The inaugural year of this semi-regular wine tasting event was in 2001, with a hiatus in 2002, 2005 and 2006. Just like certain wines, the event got better with age (we like to think!). In 2007, the party moved to Cloverdale where JY's new home allowed guests to enjoy numerous samples of wine, tasty appetizers and mingle with other cool guests, while not sweltering from the heat of his previous small home in Old Strachcona!

The event was on hold from 2008 to 2010, and then in 2011 a wine tasting party was held in Québec for JY's 40th. In 2012, another momentous event was held back in Edmonton, this time Ron joining JY as co-host. We had another great party in 2013 (55 guests, 29 wines & live music!), followed by the largest and most epic event to date in 2015 held at the Muttart Conservatory (over 100 guests, 27 wines and 9 piece live band!), with Crys leading the organizing committee.

For the record, Wild Rose is the provincial flower of Alberta which inspired the name for this event. We have no affiliation with the political party with a similar name... We had it first!

Now grab a glass of your favourite wine, get comfortable, and review the findings from these most memorable events held over the years, with each page containing a table of ranked wines followed by the tasters very colourful comments.
